Comparisons of texture analysis algorithms

Papers and Technical Reports

Weszka, Dyer and Rosenfeld (1976) empirically compared four algorithms: Fourier Power Spectrum, Grey Level Cooccurence Matrices, Grey Level Differences and Grey Level Run Lengths. Conners and Harlow (1980) compared the same four algorithms from a theoretical perspective. Ohanian and Dubes (1992) empirically compare Grey Level Cooccurence Matrix, Markov Random Fields, Gabor Convolution and Fractal algorithms.

Du Buf, Kardan and Spann (1990) survey and compare texture analysis algorithms from the perspective of unsupervised segmentation.

Also, Haralick (1979), Wechsler (1980), van Gool, Dewaele and Oosterlinck (1985), Tuceryan and Jain (1993) and Reed and du Buf (1993) survey the texture analysis field.
